How to Administer

The Food Allergy Research & Education's (FARE) website offers a free educational course "How to Save a Life: Recognizing and Responding to Anaphylaxis" that is an excellent source for learning to administer an epinephrine auto-injector.

  • All auto-injectors come in a two pack. Always keep them together in the event that the first one fails when administered or when a second dose is needed.
  • An epinephrine auto-injector should only be used to help someone during an emergency.
  • When using an auto-injector on a child, hold the child's leg firmly in place during the injection.
