The kickoff took place February 20th in 2016. The intention for the event was to fundraise for the first Annie Walk that the foundation organized. The event was at Diplomat West. It was covered in beautiful pictures of Annie, and her amazing personality was wonderfully portrayed that night with all the pictures and decorations. There were countless donations ranging from a basket of Annie’s favorite things such as Essie nail polish to signed Chicago Blackhawks jerseys. Not only were the raffle and auction items fantastic, but the atmosphere was great. The event consisted of mainly adults, and there was around ten of Annie’s friends to help with the event. There was a DJ playing great songs, an open bar, and awesome food. But, the most important part of the night was when Dr. Sara Romano spoke about allergies. She spoke very technically, explained the science behind allergies, and everyone who attended the event walked a way with a better knowledge of food allergies. Overall, the night was one of the foundations most successful nights, and was a major help in organizing the first Annie Walk.
